abstract = "The northeast region of Brazil has been the target of studies
which have shown the relevance of seismic events in recent
geological times; however, the genesis of these events is still
unknown. This work integrates geomorphometric data derived from
interferometric radar and aerogeophysical magnetic data for the
analysis of spatial and directional relationship between
morphostructural and magnetic lineaments in the Para{\'{\i}}ba
Basin, northeastern Brazil. The objective is to evaluate the
correspondence between the deep tectonic structures in the
subsurface, and the features, observed through the relief, on the
surface. Geomorphometric products were used for extracting
morphostructural lineaments, such as aspect, horizontal curvature
and altimetry. Data regarding the anomalous magnetic field and the
so-called product first vertical derivative were used for
detection of magnetic lineaments. From the analysis performed
using the Geographic Information System SPRING 5.2, it was
possible to identify important spatial and directional
correspondences which enables proposing that areas of pre-existing
shear in the study area were reactivated in the Cenozoic, more
specifically in the Late Quaternary. This is proposed due to the
similarity between the main orientations of lineaments E-W, NE-SW
and NW-SE of sedimentary units and the area of the Precambrian
basement. In addition, the geographical distribution of magnetic
and morphostructural lineaments shows strong correspondence,
particularly along major rivers and valleys of central onshore
portion of the Para{\'{\i}}ba Basin.",
